The authorization specialist is to support the therapist in obtaining the client's prior authorization and maintaining the client's chart for the FBMHS program.

  • Demonstrates clinical skills that reflect the needs of the FBMHS program
  • Manages all referrals to come into the program
  • Keeps referral source updated about openings and intake dates
  • Contacts parents of referrals to explain services and gather any additional information
  • Sends all required documentation to the insurance company promptly to gain authorization
  • Enters authorization information into the system and informs all necessary parties about approval or denial of services
  • Demonstrates the ability to implement evidence-based approaches
  • Adheres to the treatment model of ESFT as best able based on training and education level
  • Demonstrates the ability to work efficiently-multi-task-manages work schedule-dependable
  • Demonstrates the ability to document job duties
  • Ability to Demonstrate Interpersonal Skills/Collaboration
  • Ability to demonstrate compliance with professional standards

Education and/or Experience/Qualifications:

Educational requirements:
preferred Bachelor's degree or technical schooling but will accept a high school diploma with experience.
