Requirements:

  • Have high school diploma
  • Valid drivers license with reliable transportation
  • Must have taken the Certified Peer Specialist class though the state of PA and been awarded/waiting to be awarded the license.
  • Have experience with Mental Health in your life

    Description:

    A Certified Peer Specialist is trained to provide recovery-oriented services to individuals experiencing mental health challenges. This is done through instilling hope for recovery and empowering the peer to be active in their own recovery process. Certified Peer Specialists use skills to teach peers how to self-advocate and to promote empowerment so that they are able to do these things on their own.

    The ideal candidate will embody the ability to be empathetic and compassionate to the clients that they serve. Using life experience to help their clients achieve the goals they have set for themselves. This position would be serving Adult, Youth, and Young Adult Population of 14 and older.
